Egypt Beyond the Nile: White Desert to Siwa

This route goes there first, before the temples even begin. Nine nights split roughly in half: four days in the Western Desert — Bahariya's black volcanic hills, a night camping among the White Desert's wind-carved chalk pillars, and Siwa Oasis with its mudbrick fortress and Great Sand Sea dunes — followed by a more classic but deliberately timed run through Cairo, Luxor and Aswan, scheduled around sunrise and sunset rather than standard tour-bus hours. Giza is shot at first light before crowds arrive; Luxor's West Bank is timed for the low morning sun that makes tomb reliefs and temple columns readable in a single frame.
