Via ferrata cables, gorge-side trails and one very long zip line
Mumbai/Delhi → Geneva → Chamonix → Annecy → Verdon Gorge → Nice → Mumbai/Delhi

Most France trips end at a café table. This one starts on a cable wire bolted into a cliff face above Chamonix, with Mont Blanc filling the sky behind you. Eight nights take you from the Alps to the Pyrenees foothills to the turquoise cut of Verdon Gorge — three landscapes most Paris-focused itineraries never touch. In Chamonix, a via ferrata route and the Aiguille du Midi cable car put you above 3,800 metres without needing technical climbing experience. Annecy adds a gentler day of paddling on the lake before the route drops south to Verdon Gorge, where canyoning through the river's carved limestone and an optional paragliding flight over the gorge close out the physical side of the trip. Nice, on the coast, is the wind-down. We've built this specifically because France adventure requests kept getting routed into standard Paris-Riviera itineraries with a single hiking afternoon bolted on. This one treats the outdoor activities as the actual purpose of the trip, with guides and equipment briefed in advance and no day where the "adventure" is just a scenic drive. This is for travellers who've done France's cities already, or who never wanted to start there. Fitness matters more here than French vocabulary.

Adventure add-ons in standard France packages are usually a single zip-line afternoon squeezed between museum visits. This itinerary is built around three genuine outdoor regions back to back, with certified local guides and safety equipment arranged in advance rather than booked on arrival — because via ferrata and canyoning aren't activities you want to improvise on the day.
“"We'd done Paris on a college trip years ago and wanted something completely different this time. The via ferrata above Chamonix and the canyoning at Verdon Gorge were both things we didn't think we'd actually get to do in France. Safari Sutra's guide for the canyoning day didn't rush us once, even though we were clearly slower than his usual groups." — Rohan Kapadia, Ahmedabad”
