Chateaux, gardens and the Seine — without the marathon walking
Mumbai/Delhi → Paris → Loire Valley (Amboise base) → Paris → Mumbai/Delhi

Your daughter has sent you the Eiffel Tower photos from her own trip for two years running. This time, you go — and you go without needing to keep pace with anyone twenty years younger. This six-night route covers Paris and the Loire Valley with one clear rule built into every day: no destination requires more than a short walk from where the car drops you, and no day stacks two major sights back to back. Mornings start after a proper breakfast, not at dawn. Afternoons leave room for a nap or a slow coffee instead of a fourth museum. The Loire chateaux — Chambord's rooftop terraces, Chenonceau arching over the river — are seen at a pace where you can actually sit on a bench and look at them. Most France itineraries are written for people in their thirties and then quietly expected to work for parents in their sixties and seventies. We build this one the other way around — hotels with lifts and ground-floor options requested wherever possible, a driver rather than a coach group, and restaurant stops that don't assume you want to stand at a counter. This is for parents finally taking the trip their children have been describing to them, and for couples who've decided that seeing Paris doesn't require doing Paris. Six nights. Two regions. No rushing.
Viewing the Eiffel Tower from a seated river cruise instead of a queue
Touring the Loire chateaux with private car transfers between each stop
Walking Chambord's grounds at your own speed, with benches built into the route
Visiting Chenonceau's gallery over the Cher river with minimal stairs
Sampling Loire Valley wines seated in a cellar, not standing at a bar
Exploring Montmartre via funicular instead of the steep staircase
Enjoying a private Seine dinner cruise with reserved table seating
Shopping for souvenirs at an unhurried pace on the final free morning

We didn't take a standard Paris itinerary and simply add "senior-friendly" to the title — we removed every stair-heavy stop, replaced shared coach transfers with a private car, and picked hotels with lifts after checking floor plans ourselves. The pace is set by what a 65-plus traveller can comfortably do in a day, not by how many sights can be crammed in.
“"My parents are 68 and 71 and had never been to Europe. What sold us was that Safari Sutra didn't just shorten the same itinerary everyone else sells — they rebuilt it. The funicular up to Montmartre instead of the stairs made all the difference to my mother's knees. They came back saying they'd go again." — Priya Deshmukh, Pune”
