Andaman Deep Circuit: 8 Nights of Scuba, North Islands & Open Water

Chalo, Go Past the Standard Beaches and Into the Andamans That Most Travellers Never Find!

Tour Overview

Route

Port Blair → Havelock Island (3N) → Diglipur/North Andaman (2N) → Port Blair (2N)

Duration

8N / 9D

The Wall at Havelock drops from 5 metres to 25 metres in a single vertical face of coral — sea fans as wide as doorways, clouds of glassfish parting around your fins, and somewhere below you the blue turns to black. This is one of several dive sites in Havelock that most adventure travellers never reach because they stay on the surface. This eight-night circuit goes deeper — literally and geographically. The itinerary begins at Port Blair and then moves to Havelock for three full days of diving, kayaking, and open-water activity. From Havelock, the route pushes north — an unusual and seldom-made journey to Diglipur in North Andaman, where Saddle Peak rises to 732 metres through dense forest, turtle nesting beaches are accessible at night between November and January, and the number of other tourists at any given point is close to zero. The final two nights return to Port Blair for deep-sea fishing off the coast and one rest day before departure. Safari Sutra coordinates this circuit with PADI-certified diving operators on Havelock, a local naturalist guide for the Saddle Peak trek, and a licensed deep-sea fishing charter out of Port Blair. North Andaman accommodation is in a simple but clean eco-lodge — electricity is available, hot water is intermittent, and the tradeoff is a genuinely remote forest experience. This itinerary suits physically fit adults with an appetite for active, outdoor travel. Swimming ability is required. Prior diving experience is not necessary for Havelock — introductory sessions are structured for first-timers — but the three-day diving sequence rewards those who want to build skills.

Why Safari Sutra?

The Diglipur segment of this itinerary requires three separate permit types — Saddle Peak trek permit, turtle beach observation permit, and Baratang tribal reserve transit permit — all of which must be arranged in advance through specific government channels. Safari Sutra processes all three before your departure date, so no permit paperwork falls on you on the ground. We also sequence the itinerary specifically to hit North Andaman during the turtle nesting window and align the Saddle Peak trek with the post-monsoon dry season when the trail is clear and the summit views unobstructed.

Traveller Story

What Travellers Say About Andaman Deep Circuit: 8 Nights of Scuba, North Islands & Open Water

"The Wall dive on Day 4 was the single best experience I've had in twelve years of travel. Safari Sutra moved us from Havelock to Diglipur without any confusion despite the complex logistics, and the Saddle Peak trek with the naturalist was something we'd never have found on our own." — Arjun Krishnamurthy, Chennai
