Chalo, Chase the Matterhorn at Sunrise and the Lac Léman at Dusk — Switzerland's Most Romantic Circuit
Mumbai/Delhi → Geneva → Montreux → Zermatt → Grindelwald → Zurich → Mumbai/Delhi

The Matterhorn does not look like a real mountain. At 4,478 metres, it rises from the valley floor above Zermatt in a shape so perfectly pyramidal it looks engineered — as if someone decided that a mountain should look like a mountain and built one accordingly. Standing at the Stellisee lake at 5:45 in the morning, watching the summit turn from grey to pink to gold, is one of those experiences Switzerland delivers without ceremony. This 7-night route is built for couples who want more than a cable-car highlight reel. It starts in Geneva — city of international diplomacy, lakeside jet d'eau and genuinely good food — then follows the Lac Léman shoreline to Montreux, where Freddie Mercury's statue faces the water and Château de Chillon sits at the lake's edge with the Alps behind it. From there, the route climbs into the mountains: Zermatt (car-free, electric-vehicle only, quietly one of the most civilised towns in Europe) and then Grindelwald for a final alpine chapter before Zurich closes the loop. Safari Sutra's version uses private transfers from Geneva Airport and between cities so couples never navigate luggage through crowded rail stations. Hotels are 4-star throughout, selected for lake-view or mountain-view rooms where available, and we pre-arrange in-room honeymoon setups — flowers, welcome note, Swiss chocolate — at each property. This trip is for couples who've already done the obvious honeymoon beach holiday and want something that requires a coat and rewards you for it. Switzerland keeps its promises. The Matterhorn will be there in the morning.
