Czech Republic

4.9 (98 reviews)

You step onto Charles Bridge before the tour groups wake up — just you, the river mist, and thirty baroque saints watching from their stone pedestals. The Czech Republic is Central Europe's most quietly compelling country: a land where Gothic castles preside over river bends, where Bohemian spa towns have been healing visitors since the 1400s, and where a glass of world-class Czech pilsner costs less than a Mumbai chai at an airport. For Indian travellers planning a Czech Republic tour package from Mumbai, Pune, or Bangalore, this is Europe that doesn't ask you to choose between culture, cuisine, and comfort.

It's 6:15am and the bells of the Church of Our Lady before Týn are tolling across an empty Old Town Square. The astronomical clock — eight hundred years old, still counting — ticks through its hourly show for an audience of pigeons and one sleepy Indian couple holding their first cup of Czech coffee. This is the Prague that photographs don't capture: the city before the crowds arrive, when the cobblestones are still damp from the night and the spires seem close enough to reach through the cool morning air.

The Czech Republic packs an extraordinary variety of experience into a country roughly the size of Himachal Pradesh. Prague, the capital, is the obvious anchor — but the real discoveries lie beyond it. Český Krumlov in South Bohemia is a UNESCO World Heritage town where a Renaissance castle looms over an S-curve in the Vltava river, and the entire old town fits inside a single afternoon's walk. Karlovy Vary, the grand spa town in western Bohemia, has been sending European royalty home healthier since the 14th century — today Indian visitors can take the thermal colonnades walk, sip the mineral springs from the traditional spa cup, and watch the city's famous International Film Festival (held each July) from terraced hillside cafes. Less visited but equally compelling: the wine trails of Moravia in the east, where Czechs themselves holiday.

Safari Sutra's Czech Republic packages are built around the rhythm of a genuine cultural journey — not a checklist. We place you in hotels within walking distance of Prague's Old Town so you never need to hurry. Our itineraries sequence Český Krumlov before Prague so you experience the country's quieter soul before its most famous face. For Indian travellers, we pre-confirm access to vegetarian-friendly restaurants in each city — Czech cuisine leans heavily toward meat, but Prague's international food scene is robust, and we know exactly where the kitchen will accommodate you without compromise. Our local partners are licensed guides, not freelancers, and most have been working the same routes for over a decade.

The best time to visit the Czech Republic from India is April through June — long days, full-bloom gardens, and Prague's famous open-air beer gardens alive with locals. September and October bring the golden light that photographers chase and fewer crowds than summer. December is spectacular for Christmas markets but cold (temperatures can drop to -5°C — pack accordingly). This itinerary suits couples on a European honeymoon, families with older children interested in history, and solo Indian travellers who want a Central European base from which to explore at their own pace. Travellers from Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad typically fly via Frankfurt, Vienna, or Istanbul — most connections to Prague land within 14–16 hours. If Europe has been on your list and you haven't decided where to begin, the Czech Republic is the answer.

Why Safari Sutra

Safari Sutra's Czech Republic itineraries are structured so that you arrive in Český Krumlov before Prague — deliberately, because experiencing the Czech Republic's quieter, more personal soul before its most photographed capital means you arrive in Prague with context rather than comparison. We pre-confirm vegetarian dining at every property and city stop, because Czech menus can be a wall of pork and dumplings without that groundwork. Our Prague accommodations are chosen for Old Town proximity on foot — no metro commuting at midnight through an unfamiliar city.

I think if you want to have a hassle free Trip then mr. Sukhendu Reddy is the man for you. We, family of 3 went to Singapore and Malaysia through his agency. Everything was so meticulously planned , the timings amazed us a lot. It was perfect. The vehicles provided, the city tours and the guides were all good at what they assigned to. And the most surprising was Mr. Sukhendu's patience. He would attend to our calls any time of the day , though the timings differed by 2 and a half hours . I think that is an important quality of a travel agent. Go for it guys. You will love it.

Frequently Asked Questions about Czech Republic

Common questions travelers ask about Czech Republic — if you need more help, contact us.

April to June is the most popular window — long daylight hours, temperatures between 15–24°C, and Prague's outdoor spaces fully open. September and October are equally compelling: the summer crowds have thinned, autumn colours are beginning in the parks, and accommodation rates are gentler. December is spectacular for Christmas markets in Prague and Český Krumlov, but pack for genuine cold — temperatures can drop to -5°C or lower, and layers are non-negotiable.
